The winners of this year's Hong Kong Watch and Clock Design Competition have been announced, with prizes going to innovative new designs.

Announced ahead of the start of the Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair, the Open Group prize was won by the Wincy Horological 10.2 watch, which is a pocket watch that can be mounted inside a strap and worn around the wrist.

Meanwhile, the student prize was won by Fok Yiu Chor, from the School for Higher and Professional Education for the Globe Watch, which can track the times in two locations using a world map.

This year's Hong Kong watch show marks the 30th anniversary of the event and will see 700 exhibitors from 12 countries showcase their designs at the Hong Kong Exhibition and Convention Centre from September 7th to 11th 2011.

Earlier this month, Cartier announced it was to release a new watch which can be used to tell the time in multiple time zones.
