Watchmaker Orient releases the Excursionist

A new timepiece from watchmaker Orient has received praise, which may interest those in the market for a new ticker.

Entitled the Excursionist, the timepiece is one of few from the brand to offer a GMT design, with a reviewer at Hodinkee describing the piece as "a pretty great watch".

Some of the design features of this Orient wristwatch include the that its case measures in at 45mm, with a height of around 14mm, meaning that this ticker can easily be viewed.

Found inside this case is a bi-directional bezel, designed with two scales on it. The inner-scale indicates the 24-hour time while a nautical compass can be found on the outer – adding to the practicality of the Excursionist.

Another handy feature is the fact that the product boasts 200m of water resistance, while four dial varieties – white, grey, black and blue – gives consumers some choice in their selection.

Orient, which celebrated its 60th anniversary in the watchmaking industry last year, finishes of the timepiece with a "pretty well built" non-tapered oyster-style bracelet.
