Watches become primary focus of Jessica Simpson

Another celebrity is to get involved with the world of watches, as US singer and actress Jessica Simpson has announced that she is currently designing a number of timepieces.

Teaming up with jewellery mogul Pascal Mouawad - who struck up a deal with Nicole Richie, daughter of Commodore Lionel, to design her own line of keepsakes - the southern state star will be releasing the offerings later in the year.

The wrist watches will be produced under her own name and will be sold as part of the Jessica Simpson Collection, which already includes clothing and bed linen.

Jessica said of her deal: "It is a joy to be able to create a line that is affordable and fashionable.

"Creating and inspiring the collection is very near to my heart - my mom and I work on this collectively and it is a passion for both of us."

Following her divorce from Nick Lachey of 98 Degrees in 2006, Jessica has been linked with John Mayer, as well as Tony Romo, the quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys.
