Watches are 'great gift for women'

First published: 11-02-2010

Valentine's Day is a wonderful time for people to exchange gifts, though many individuals may be sick of the same routine.

Ian Spencer of Clear Web Services said of Valentine's Day: "Flowers and chocolates have been the traditional gifts to give but that can sometimes be a little old fashioned and corny. The next thing is jewellery, but this is also a very traditional thing to do, so where does that leave us?"

He went on to say that through buying a loved one a watch, a person can not only give away a fantastic gift but also show their significant other just how much you care.

While women may enjoy those mixed with jewellery, such as those with diamantes and jewels set in the surrounds, those who enjoy the great outdoors also have watches to suit their needs, with water resistance, shockproof protection and tachymeters all coming in very handy on a day-to-day level.

Mr Spencer's comments follow those of the Guardian, which recommended that people avoid getting their emotions involved when buying watches for the love-charged occasion.
