The 64th gathering of the National Association of Watch & Clock Collectors (NAWCC) is currently taking place in Michigan, with many devoted fans of timepieces meeting up for events and auction opportunities.

Members of the NAWCC are gathering to promote, share and display their watches and clocks as well as discuss major changes in the horology world.

Speaking to Grand Rapids News, the newspaper serving the area in which the NAWCC are meeting up, president of the organisation's Western Michigan chapter Edward Bikowitz highlighted why he loves the world of watches and clocks.

He said: "I think with some of these clocks, maybe if you put your ear against them and listen hard enough, you'll hear some of the things they've seen as they've travelled through history."

The NAWCC was established when L D Stallcup, a certified master horologist, felt the need to bring watch collectors together to exchange ideas and trade duplicates, ultimately furthering the industry.
