Valentine's Day is 'perfect time for watch giving'

While many people will assert that all you need is love this Valentine's Day, those not buying their other half a present for the event may face their wrath.

Yet while many people have reduced budgets due to the scare stories the recession has brought with it, it's easy to spend a little bit of money and get a big return from watches, according to Anne-Marie Cottone of NJ.com.

The writer explained that keeping a sweetheart happy without breaking the bank is easily achievable with a pocket watch, which exudes a level of intimacy like very little else.

Adding an inscription is another great bonus with such timepieces, Ms Cottone concluded.

Other items she suggested to accompany such an investment included the new S Series of Walkman from Sony, fancy cufflinks, Elsa Peretti Open Heart pendants and new mobile phones with online capabilities.

Earlier in the month, it was revealed by the Sports Business Journal that Fossil watches were dished out as gifts to young American footballers as prizes for winning their respective bowl titles.
