Vacheron Constantin releases Historiques American 1921 watch

A new timepiece from Vacheron Constantin may prove to be the ideal accessory to welcome in the new year, after it received a glowing review.

The Watch Observer awarded the Historiques American 1921 a rating of 73 out of 100, with its quirky watch face design particularly catching the reviewer's attention.

Instead of going for a standard style, Vacheron Constantin has decided to shift the dial so each position is slightly off centre, with the ten and 11 o'clock positions occupying where 12 o'clock usually lies.

However, the news source noted: "The result, while it could be thought of as off-balance, gives a vigour that is particular and enchanting."

The decision to combine a pink gold case with a luxury, dark brown alligator strap has also been applauded by the critic, as has the original cushion-shaped design.

Vacheron Constantin has had plenty of success in the watchmaking industry, with its Historique Ultra-fine 1955 timepiece recently being honoured with the Public Prize at the 2010 Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix, World Tempus reported.
