Titanium watches 'an emerging trend'

Titanium watches could be something which consumers are looking out for in the future as the appeal of the timepieces becomes better known.

Offering his view on the growing trend for watches made from the material among many well-known manufacturers, Terry Markham, assistant buyer and senior marketing merchandiser at Watch Shop, explained to Professional Jeweller that while there is no rush for the products at present, this could be down to lack of awareness.

He explained that brands such as Tissot are now using the metal and producing great watches with it.

"Working with it was quite difficult but now that companies such as Seiko and Swatch Group are working with it they can produce titanium watches on a much cheaper and bigger scale," Mr Markham added.

Boccia Titanium recently took steps to boost the profile of its products by hosting an event on its Facebook pages to give its loyal fans the chance of winning one of its timepieces.
