Tissot watches names new sports ambassador

First published: 15-05-2009

Tissot watches has named its first Italian sports ambassador - fencing champion Margherita Granbassi.

Margherita won the 2006 World Fencing Championship and her addition to the Tissot watches team is a timely one, with the firm celebrating the 10th anniversary of its Touch technology.

A statement on the Tissot website notes that Margherita shares the company values of combining "tradition and innovation".

Tissot also notes that the fencing star's chosen sport has a common bond with the watch brand in the role that innovative tactile technology plays in both spheres.

Margherita was voted one of the eleven most beautiful women participating in the Athens Olympics by the American, British, Greek and Australian editions of Marie Claire.

Tissot also made the headlines earlier this week, when pictures of their Taiwanese ambassador Barbie Hsu were published by the China Daily News.

The actress and singer features in the latest advertising campaign by the brand.
