Women timepiece enthusiasts will welcome a fresh ceramic collection from a leading Swiss designer.

The new Tag Heuer F1 Ceramic watches collection for women has today been announced by Ernest Jones.

Its contemporary design boasts steel and ceramic fixed bezels and bracelet-like straps.

The collection is comprised of a range of large Chronographs and small watch dials.

There are six varieties of models to choose from, each with a date window, quart movement and round dial, while four of the designs also have diamond detail.

Designs also come in elegant black, white and silver colour schemes, adding to their sophistication.

Tag Heuer was founded in 1860 by Edouard Heuer, who patented his first chronograph in 1882.

Heuer also began manufacturing timepieces for boats, cars and aeroplanes from 1911 onwards.

Last week, the winners of this year's UK Jewellery Awards were announced at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.

Ti Sento received the Jewellery Brand of the year award, while Tomasz Donocik picked up the prize for Jewellery Designer of the Year.
