A new Swatch watch shop has been opened in Pittsburgh International Airport.

Located in the centre of the airside terminal, the new store will make Swatch watches more readily available to international travellers passing through the hub.

The new opening comes after the watchmaker announced in May that it was expanding its airport stores in Europe.

Three new Tech Airport Holding stores are set to be opened by the end of this year in Geneva International Airport.

Swatch watches have certainly come a long way since their first exposure by the fashion spotlight in the 1980s, having expanded into jewellery and dress watches for both men and women.

Now, Swatch watches are sold in number of stores throughout the world including nine in Roissy Charles de Gaulle, eight at Orly, five in Nice, one in Nantes.

Another Tech-Airport Holding store is also set to open in Vienna, Austria next year.
