Suunto sports watch named most durable

First published: 21-01-2014

A list of the best GPS sports watches of 2014 has been released by The Heart Rate Watch Company (THRWC), with Suunto making the top five.

The Finnish designer was awarded the title of Most Durable Watch for their Suunto Ambit 2 Sapphire.

According to PR Web Rusty Squire, president of THRWC, said: "We do this list every year to focus on the top new products.

"These are the true elite watches that our testers believe have the best feature sets."

Suunto's watch was chosen for this particular accolade for a second year in a row as it still stands up in its category.

The timepiece was described as the most versatile as it can withstand a variety of different extreme sports, such as skiing, sailing, cycling and running.

Promotion of the product has been aimed towards athletes and explorers, while the watchmaker praised its various features - including information on navigation, speed, heart rate, altitude and weather conditions.
