A street cleaner in Essex has spoken of how amazed he was when he found a Rolex watch in a drain, only to uncover a second just days later.

Arron Large works as a drain technician and found a £21,000 18-carat gold Rolex Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph near to Chalkwell railway station last week.

After handing the timepiece in to the police, he has been told that if no one comes forward to claim to watch it will be returned to him.

However, the 28-year-old has found a further three watches, including another that is believed to be an authentic Rolex timepiece.

"The only things I've found in the past are one and two pence pieces so I can't believe this," Mr Large said.

Rolex watches are highly regarded as being among the most popular and elegant designs for timepieces and were recently praised for being the embodiment of elegance by Francis J, editor of watchprojects.com.
