Smartwatch launched by Android

First published: 09-08-2011

Watches are delving into the futuristic world of ever-evolving 'smart' technology with Android's launch of its smartwatch.

Made in Italy, the timepiece (if that's a strong enough word) comes from Blue Sky and is named the I'm Watch.

It's a sleek looking piece with a black strap and gold frames. Watch lovers can also choose from a variety of colours, including pink, white gold, yellow gold, titanium and black gold.

While it can't be used as a phone to make calls, it still stores photos, music and emails which are all downloadable from the i'mstore.

It features a 4 GB flash storage, Bluetooth 2.1 and a 1.54 inch colour TFT display.

Like many smartphones, it comes with a touch screen that allows wearers to drag and swipe when using its features.

Among its highlights, however, is its capability to access your smartphone. Apps from the phone can then be opened in the watch.

Technology at its coolest.
