Sammy Davis Jnr watch set for auction

A watch once deemed good enough as a gift for a close friend by Frank Sinatra is set to go on sale in an auction on June 11th.

Sammy Davis Jnr's engraved Cartier Pasha watch will be sold as part of the Antiquorum Auction.

The watch has an estimated value of between $10,000 (£6,366) and $20,000 (£12,733) and is inscribed with the words "Sammy I Luv Ya F.A.S".

Crooner Sammy was featured wearing the watch on the cover of People magazine - a copy of which will be sold alongside the watch.

It is water resistant, gold-plated and provides the time across two zones.

Another piece of Frank Sinatra watch memorabilia will also be going on sale at the auction.

The crooner's gold-plated Gruen watch and gold chain necklace has an estimated value of $10,000 (£6,366) and $15,000 (£9,550).

A Movado watch given to President Roosevelt on his 63rd birthday will also be auctioned at the event.
