First published: 05-05-2011

Enthusiastic watch fans may be interested to note that Rolex has named a new chief executive, in Gian Riccardo Marini.

With immediate effect, Marini takes up the role that was previously occupied by Bruno Meier from 2008.

Marini has plenty of experience with Rolex operations already, having been the managing director of its Italian branch of the brand since 2000.

This is not the only change around at the well-known watchmaker though, with Daniel Neidhart also being named as the manager of foreign subsidiaries.

Neidhart has also got a wealth of knowledge about Rolex's way of business, with his last position being in charge of the company's Chinese distribution.

Watch fans may find plenty of appeal with Rolex's collection of timepieces, including with the Milgauss 116400.

The ticker scored a rating of 71 out of 100 by Watch Observer recently, with the new source's critic believing it to be "very comfortable".
