Retro Casio watches 'need a comeback'

First published: 16-07-2009

One man's quest to cope with young children has seen him turn back to the watch market following years of using a mobile phone to do the job of telling the time.

Scott Stein, the senior associate editor of technology resource Cnet, explained that now that his young baby is firmly strapped to his front as he walks to work, a watch seemed like the right idea - one which he definitely believed was true following an investment in Casio watches.

Buying the classic Casio A158W, Mr Stein commented on the ongoing stylishness of the design, which he believes is still firmly anchored in the 80s.

He explains that its "retro classic appeal" carries over to much of its current range - fashion which he believes to be resurgent and hugely attractive to even the most passive buyers in the market.

However, people ought to be careful when buying their watch and should invest in one from a shop with a good reputation, following the seizure of 3,000 counterfeit Casio watches by the company and the Department of Economic Development in the UAE.
