People buying any one of Ralph Lauren's new 2011 watches will be investing in a lifestyle choice as well as a product, according to one expert.

A blog posting on Hodinkee.com stated that the upcoming timepieces from the designer are all about the Ralph Lauren way of life, giving people theimage of driving a vintage Bugatti, owning horn-rim glasses and attending black tie receptions every week.

Referring to the Sporting Watch, the author said: "The sporting chronograph, which is not a new model, did receive an update via a guilloche dial and bezel. At 39mm, this is truly one of the most elegant chronographs on the market. Rarely does a chronograph belong with a tuxedo, but if anyone is going to do it, it's going to be Ralph Lauren."

The designer started with a collection of ties 40 years ago and has now grown into one of the most popular fashion houses in the world, redefining US style.
