Popularity of Kenenth Cole pushes House of Fraser sales

House of Fraser has revealed that its department stores have had record seasonal trading, bolstering claims that the period was good for many high-street chains.

It follows similar announcements from Next and John Lewis, with like-for-like sales growing by 7.1 per cent for the eight weeks to January 2nd, as well as its best-ever Christmas week and a 27 per cent rise of Boxing Day sales.

Watch fans will likely be interested to hear that a 33 per cent rise in sales for House labels, including Kenneth Cole clothing, were powering this impressive growth, while women's fashion accessories - perhaps including watches - also rose by 20 per cent.

Chief executive John King said: "It was pleasing that we had our biggest ever Christmas week and Boxing Day, with some of our stores, such as Oxford Street, experiencing their strongest ever performance."

Based in Glasgow, House of Fraser now operates 62 stores across the UK.
