A Swiss watchmaker has unveiled the newest addition to the Watch Only charity auction set to take place for its fourth year soon.

Maurice Lacroix has launched its Roue Caree Seconde for the event aiming to raise much needed funds for a cause dedicated to Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

The event, which takes place in the Principality of Monaco, will receive this timepiece, based on a 2010 design from the designer, into its collection for the auction which begins bidding on September 22nd.

Developed by engineer Michel Vermot, the design features the Watch Only logo on its square-wheel, though its only visible under a magnifying glass.

Centrally mounted hands have been fitted to improve time reading precision, while it has a 45-hour power reserve.

It also comes with 34 jewels, a crocodile-skin strap and the buckle is finished by sand-blast.

In terms of looks, it's simple yet sophisticated. The black strap and silver frame enhance its elegant dial which features a clockwork image in shades of grey.

It's bound to be a big seller at the auction.
