New 'paper thin' watch unveiled

The new Phosphor watch features E Ink's ultra-thin paper display technology that fits almost unnoticeably on to the wearer's wrist.

Multiple watch dial modes are also available on this digital watch, allowing owners to change the style of their watch to suit their mood at the flick of a switch.

The watch also features calendar information and a curved surface for ergonomic wrist comfort.

Russ Wilcox, chief executive officer at E Ink Corporation, said: "Phosphor watches provide the wearer [with] a unique, stylish and practical fashion accessory.

"Digital watches are an ideal application for our technology because of its inherent readability and thin form factor."

E Ink technology was recently incorporated into a flexible touchscreen display developed by researchers at Arizona State University's Flexible Display Center.

The new display is glass-free and is the first interactive flexible matrix that enables real-time user input - either using a stylus pen or by touch.
