New Baume & Mercier watch receives praise

A new timepiece from Baume & Mercier has been given a positive review, with a design which could appeal to elegant watch fans.

The Chronograph Flyback Capeland 10006 is the device in question, which has received a rating of 67 out of 100 by the Watch Observer.

Its critic noted: "Right away with the first glance, the dial catches the eye with its slightly convex shape, its ivory colour and the choice of typographic characters used for the design of the hourmarkers."

One of the unique elements of the watch is the fact that the centre of the dial is dominated by a 1930s inspired tachometric scale.

All of these features are compacted into a steel case measuring 44mm in diameter, while flipping the timepiece over reveals a glimpse into the ticker's inner workings via a transparent caseback.

Baume & Mercier, a Swiss watchmaker with roots in the watchmaking industry stretching back to 1830, completes the device's design with a rich alligator strap.
