New Audemars Piguet watch 'set to be a hit'

First published: 01-02-2011

An Audemars Piguet timepiece has caught the eye of one critic at last month's SIHH event, fashion watch fans may be interested to hear.

Benjamin Clymer of Hodinkee found the model in question – the Millenary 4101 – very appealing.

First unveiled at SIHH 2011, which took place between January 17th and 21st, one of the first design features that draws the eye is the "versatile case material that is much more approachable than any precious metal".

Other unique elements of the Millenary 4101 include a watch that is designed to balance the dial and movement displays, as well as a trio of bright jewels appearing at the ten, 11 and 12 o'clock locations.

Altogether, the Audemars Piquet timepiece is made up of 34 jewels, with a movement featuring 253 parts and a power reserve of 60 hours making for a highly-accurate and reliable display.

"In my very humble opinion, Audemars Piguet hit the nail on the head with this new piece and they have a soon to be hit on their hands," Mr Clymer concluded.
