NBA's Tony Parker announced as new Tissot ambassador

Watchmaker Tissot has announced French basketball competitor Tony Parker as its latest ambassador.

Parker has became a big name in the world of basketball after becoming only the second French player to play in the NBA league and the youngest to play in the San Antonio Spurs team.

However, Professional Jeweller has reported that the player, who is also the French national basketball captain, has just signed a contract with the famous timepiece brand, which has been making luxury watches since 1853.

It is not the first time that Tissot has got involved with basketball, having made its first collaboration with the International Basketball Federation last year, as well as been the official timekeeping and data handling expert at a previous EuroBasket tournament in Poland, but its president François Thiébaud is thrilled to have Parker on board.

He said: "His natural talent and focused determination are deeply impressive and our partnership will help spread his inspirational qualities around the world."
