Most popular US watch brands revealed

Watch fans in the UK looking for devices that will keep them on the crest of the style wave may want to take inspiration from their neighbours across the Atlantic.

American marketing and consultancy firm United Brands has revealed the top-selling as well as most-loved timepieces of US consumers.

Split into two categories, the company successfully compiled the list after working with executives, consultants and affiliates.

As a result, Patek Philippe topped United Brands' super premium watch brands list, seeing off competition from Vacheron Constantin and A. Lange & Sohne, who placed second and third respectively.

Meanwhile, in its findings of the most successful luxury watch brands in the US, the company named Rolex as topping the pile, followed by Cartier and Audemars Piguet.

UK timepiece enthusiasts who are fans of Rolex may want to check out the Cosmograph Daytona 116520, which was recently released by the brand and was honoured with a rating of 68 out of 100 by the Watch Observer.
