Man arrested following watch theft

Police in Dubai have arrested a man they believe to have stolen a collection of luxury watches, it has been reported.

The shop owner had returned to his jewellery store after locking up the previous evening to find several items had gone missing, Gulf News revealed.

"After the robbery the suspect told the police he went behind the museum at Culture Village to bury a bag that contained the stolen watches," the news provider explained.

All the stolen items were retrieved and returned to the store, police confirmed, with the force noting how they managed to solve the crime in record time.

This follows a recent report in the Sun that said a thief in London had thrown Rolex watches at police as he ran from the scene of the crime.

He is believed to have taken around 40 watches from the location in Kingston.
