MB&F's JwlryMachine watch inspiration unveiled

The chief executive and owner of MB&F has revealed the inspiration behind the design of the JwlryMachine watch.

Max Busser noted that his first thoughts for the timepiece came after viewing a Queen of the Night necklace by jewellery designer Shaun Leane, Professional Jeweller reported.

Created in collaboration with Boucheron, the necklace was made to honour the 150th anniversary of the French jewellery house, boasting bejewelled flowers that could be opened and closed at will.

As a result of the impression that the accessory had on Mr Busser, he sought out Boucheron president Jean-Christophe Bedos about a possible partnership themselves.

Recounting the meeting, he noted: "I went to him and I said, 'You do 3D jewellery, I do 3D watches, let's work together'."

Following this, the pair came up with the JwlryMachine, which displays time to fashion watch fans through two dials and comes with diamond, sapphire, amethyst, rose quartz and pink tourmaline elements.

Max Busser formed MB&F back in 2005, with the newest timepiece from the brand set to be revealed in September.
