London fashion characterised by 'difference'

British girls are particularly good at putting together outfits that express their individuality, according to fashion magazine Company.

The UK's high-street trends help to feed this creativity, claims fashion director at the magazine Oonagh Brennan.

High-street brands are very quick to pick up on catwalk inspired pieces, she claims, enabling "everybody" to look different such as through diversifying their outfit with watch and jewellery accessories.

Ms Brennan said: "I remember years ago it would be really hard to be stylish on the high street because you could only really get basics and I used to lust after all the designers and wish I could afford them.

"Now you can see that a puffed sleeve, slim, thin leather jacket is a real trend at Gucci and you can literally go out and find that."

Her comments follow a recent survey by the Clothes Show London, which named London as Britain's Most Stylish City.
