London Jewellery Week has hit the capital once again, with a launch party proving that the event''s spirits have not been downplayed by the recession.

Held at Goldsmiths'' Hall, a number of top jewellery designers were on hand to showcase their latest wares.

Among them were Shaun Leane and David Marshall, whose exquisite collections were laid bare for all to see throughout the prestigious location.

Speaking to Reuters, Mr Marshall said: "We need a real showcase for our design skills and craftsmanship.

"This event should end up, we hope, like a London Fashion Week for the jewellery industry."

The occasion will run from June 7th - 13th at various venues throughout London and aims to support both established jewellery designers and those who are trying to make it big in the industry.

Just one of the events is the Hatton Garden Street Festival, which gives people information on many aspects of jewellery making.
