Between February 17th and 21st, the eyes of the world are glued to our capital city. London Fashion Week is one of the most important events in the fashion calendar.

It's a week where designers define what trends will be hitting our high streets and wardrobes for the next six months. It's not just clothes, though. Its influence extends into jewellery and watches.

Looking to get ahead of the accessories style curve? Read up on the biggest trends to hit London Fashion Week 2017, and learn how you can add them to your outfit.

Pretty and preppy

Ladies Lacoste Watch

Sportswear took a street-inspired edge in 2016, and while the trend is set to remain in our daily wardrobes (rather than being limited to the gym) designers are adding a preppy spin in 2017.

Think exclusive country clubs, tennis pleats and sparklingly clean white pumps, rather than the curve-hugging trousers, leotards, and crop tops of last year. Lacoste has getting full marks when it comes to preppy since inception. We think it'll be a go-to brand during this new trend.

The Ladies Lacoste watch above is a bright white statement piece that lets you wear your love of this trend on your wrist. Or the deep green unisex 12.12 watch is a classic Lacoste design that'll suit the boardroom as much as the tennis court.

Have fun with novelty designs

Ladies Kate Spade New York Metro Watch

The fashion world is channelling fun, quirky designs. As an accessory, a novelty handbag can be added to any outfit to add a playful twist to your ensemble, and a quirky watch can channel the same effect.

The right wrist watch can help to show off a piece of your personality without being too loud. The 'bananas' Kate Spade New York Metro watch (above) captures this look beautifully, and pays tribute to the slogan trend also set to hit the catwalk this year.

In a similar mood, the Ted Baker range includes a selection of small but perfectly formed pieces of playful jewellery – including tiny pastel heart stud earrings and delicate sweetie bow necklaces - which will show off your fun side in any situation.

Statement earrings are back… again

Ladies Calvin Klein Two-Tone Steel and Rose Plate Wonder Earrings

Statement earrings continue to have an impact on the catwalk, and if you want to look on-trend you'll need them in your jewellery box. This year's London Fashion Week will see huge statement earrings in an array of colours and shapes, but outside the shows, the size will be slimmed down for practicality.

Calvin Klein's two-tone Wonder earrings are an on-point set of statement earrings that make an impact without drowning out the rest of your outfit. Rose gold continues to be the metallic shade du jour, while the steel plating gives them an edge against other rose gold accessories.

It's worth noting Calvin Klein is one of the must-watch designers of the show this year, thanks to the new head designer Raf Simons joining the fashion house. His youthful approach to fashion will prove popular with Calvin Klein fans, making the collection one to view.

These three trends are set to hit the catwalk and the high street for 2017, making them sure-fire bets for keeping a perfectly up to date wardrobe.
