London 2012 commemorative watch launched

First published: 03-08-2011

It's more than a couple of weeks of sporting events and athletic displays of brilliance.

It's three weeks of celebrations and festivities that have already got east London pumped for the occasion, which is a little under a year away.

That's right - the London 2012 Olympic Games will begin on July 27th next year, which is why Omega has released a new commemorative watch on the precise date a full twelve months in advance.

The Seamaster 1948 Co-Axial London 2012 is the brand's new design, a tribute to fact they will be the official timekeeper for the Games, just as they were in its London debut in 1948.

For the swimmer in you, even if you're not quite elite material, the watch is water resistant to 120 metres.

It comes in a stainless steel case and features an 18-carat white gold vintage Omega logo.

The timepiece is a real tribute to the event and is a must-have for Olympic souvenir collectors.
