Watch brand Accurist has been purchased by the parent company of Sekonda.

Time Products has announced the deal, which will see the first time control over the Accurist business leaving the hands of the Loftus family.

Marcus Margulies, owner of Time Products Ltd, said: "The Marguilies and Loftus families have known each other for over 50 years and recognise the benefits that will stem from the merger of these two very famous brands."

He added that Andrew Loftus and David Merriman would be working closely to ensure that the transition went according to plan.

Mr Margulies also said they will attempt to build on the reputation built up by both companies over the years, which he says was based on customer service, value and quality.

Sekonda, Almar and Limit are all watch brands currently under the ownership of Time Products, giving them a presence at the low and high-end of the timepiece market.
