Karen Millen watches - Outlet store continues to thrive

The popularity of Karen Millen watches and other items from the designer has been demonstrated by recent trading figures at a leading outlet.

According to a report from the Liverpool Daily Post, traders at the Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet registered a sales rise of 8.6 per cent, despite like-for-like UK retail sales dropping by 0.8 per cent over the course of the year.

Marketing manager at Cheshire Oaks Shaun Rhodes revealed that major stores such as Karen Millen - a leading provider of watches - were pulling in consumers despite the recession.

He continued: "The economic climate has encouraged people to make their money go a lot further, but, instead of sacrificing quality for price, Liverpool shoppers want both and are opting for out-of-town designer outlets to pick up top brand names at discount."

For its Autumn/Winter 09 collection, Karen Millen is aiming for the "boutique approach to dressing" and adopting a "graphic modernist" style for the season.
