Isle of Man watchmaker producing limited edition watches

A selection of very fine handmade watches are being made to order by a watchmaker on the Isle of Man.

Roger Smith is producing 35 new timepieces that each have a value of £170,000 for a number of very exclusive clients who have requested the timepieces, the Isle of Man Today reported.

The watches have been made by Mr Smith as part of a special collaboration programme with his former mentor and famed horologist George Daniels, who passed away last year.

Mr Daniels was one of the most respected watchmakers in the world and in 2010 was awarded a CBE for his services to the watch industry.

In tribute to the craftsman, the watches have been named 'Daniels'.

‘This meant a lot to me that George had approved these watches and he trusted me and the team here with the project,’ Mr Smith told the news provider.

He has already received orders for a number of the watches from as far away as the US and Asia.
