IWC reveal the Portofino Hand-Wound Eight Days

Luxury watch fans may want to check out a new IWC timepiece, which fits neatly in the brand's Portofino collection.

Entitled the Portofino Hand-Wound Eight Days, the product achieves its name due to the fact that its power reserve is able to last without any assist for 192 hours – or eight days.

This information can be found on the dial of the fashion watch between the eight and nine o'clock positions, meaning that wearers will always be on top of their timepiece's usage.

Other features on the slate coloured dial, complete with red gold markers, include a small seconds display at six o'clock and a sleek date window tucking in at the three o'clock location.

Watch Luxus commented on this design technique by stating: "The placing of the displays … ensures that the dial layout is finely balanced."

Meanwhile, movie buffs may notice a pair of IWC watches – the Portuguese Perpetual Calendar and Da Vinci Perpetual Calendar – in the film Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps.

Leading actors Shia LaBeouf and Michael Douglas sporting the products, Luxist recently reported.
