History of watchmakers immortalised in words

A leading Swiss watchmaker has been immortalised in words after it was revealed a new biography will trace its history.

Written by Watch Time's online editor, Mike Disher, Audemars Piquet is the name of the book documenting the history of the brand.

The label was first established in 1875 when Jules Louis Audemars teamed up with fellow designer Edward August Piguet in Le Brassus, Switzerland.

What began in a workshop in a family home grew into a timepiece legend that employs almost 1,000 people globally.

Illustrations in chronological order enrich an already enchanting tale about the devoted watch creators.

A range of chapters pave the way for detailed insight into the pace and development of the brand.

As WatchTime.com said about the perfect time factory chapter: "[It] highlights the creativity of the watchmakers who have pushed the limits of mechanical movements and handed down a unique form of know-how from generation to generation."

That's just a snippet of what's to come.

The book was published by Editions Flammarion, Paris.
