Haul of 24 watches stolen in Cardiff burglary

Thieves have made off from a property in Rhiwbina, Cardiff, with a haul of 24 watches worth a combined total of £90,000.

As the BBC reports, the looters struck on Friday December 14th, and it was feared that the criminals would attempt to sell the timepieces ahead of Christmas Day.

While there is yet no indication if the watches were sold on, the police are appealing for witnesses as they attempt to catch the offenders.

"The owner is naturally devastated by this burglary," said Detective Constable Richard Fenton from the South Wales Police.

"These valuable watches are distinctive and I would ask anyone who is offered one for sale or given one as a gift to contact us immediately."

Included among the haul was a piece from Bulova, and with such a high number of expensive watches having been taken in the burglary, police will be hopeful of tracking them down as they attempt to return them to their rightful owner.
