Legendary golfer Greg Norman has been unveiled as the newest ambassador for the watch maker Omega.

He joins a list that already includes such well-known celebrity faces such as George Clooney, Cindy Crawford and fellow golfer Sergio Garcia, Watch ID has reported.

The announcement of Greg's partnership with the watch maker was made earlier this month at the Omega European Masters golf tournament and gives the company one of the most recognisable faces in the sport.

Nicknamed the Great White Shark for his Australian roots and powerful playing style, Greg has succeeded in winning 91 events during his professional career, including 20 US PGA tour titles and a number one world ranking in the sport that lasted an incredible 331 consecutive weeks.

Both parties involved with the deal are happy with the decision, with the Omega's president acknowledging Greg as one of golf's "great personalities", and Greg also praised the company, which has only being making wristwatches since 1999.

He said: "From the Apollo programme to the Olympic Games, Omega has always set the standard for precision and reliability."
