Glycine to release anniversary watch

Watch maker Glycine has announced the release of a new timepiece to celebrate its 100th anniversary.

The company has effectively reinvented the pilot chronograph, with its new Airman Airfighter featuring genuine functions of a pilot's watch, Watch Pro reports.

It also includes three time zones, the second of which is tracked by a white triangular tipped GMT hand that is controlled by the central crown.

The third time zone is unlocked by the lower crown and registered by a four hour rotating bezel, while a sliding actuator activates the chronograph functions.

A skeletonised aircraft is also featured on the rotor, which is reflected by sapphire crystal and seals the chronograph.

Fans of the new design have three choices should they wish to purchase an Airman Airfighter - blue, red or black dials - all of which come with a matching leather strap.

The Swiss watch maker Glycine was founded in 1914 in Bienne.
