Glitzy watches go under the hammer

First published: 14-04-2009

An array of unique watches are set to go under the hammer for charity during the Monaco Yacht Show.

The Only Watch auction takes place every two years in Monaco as part of the show and had Prince Albert II as its patron.

Proceeds raised from the extravagant show, which will take place on September 24th, are used to support research into Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy

Brands including Cartier, Chaumet, Hermès, Louis Vuitton, Mont Blanc, Omega, Swatch, Tag Heuer, and Zenith International will put timepieces up for sale at the Only Watch auction.

The firms produce a unique watch, or the first of a limited series, which are then offered at auction without reserve price.

All proceeds from the sale are used to fund the Monegasque Association against Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, which organises international research projects to better understand the disease.
