Frederique Constant join Google Glass Explorer Programme

First published: 10-03-2014

Luxury watch maker Frederique Constant has become the first company of its kind to embrace Google Glass.

It claims to be so impressed with the technology that it decided to become part of the Official Google Glass Explorer Program, a privilege only available to a select view.

Ralph Simons, president of Alpina Frederique Constant Americas, said: "Since gaining membership to the Google Glass Explorer Program, we have been actively developing best approaches to integrate these smart glasses into new and existing brand processes."

He added that the partnership was a "logical" one as the Frederique Constant brand is all about embracing technologies and leading innovation.

Brand directors will be allowed to use the Glass functionalities to create how-to videos for customers, based on the capabilities of its watches.

Google Glass is set for consumer release later in 2014, although many companies and individuals around the world have been invited to test the product.
