Fossil to sell Michael Kors watches

Michael Kors watches seem to be the apple of the eye of Fossil, with the company looking to capitalise on the brand in India, according to a new report.

In the piece for, luxury brands Michael Kors and Marc by Marc Jacobs could add to the extensive portfolio Fossil already retails, including DKNY watches, Diesel watches and Adidas watches, alongside its own timepieces, sunglasses and leather goods.

Johnson Verghese, deputy country manager of Fossil India, told the publication: "We plan to bring in watches by Marc Jacobs and Michael Kors in the first half of 2010."

It is believed that the company will start retailing in Delhi and expand to other cities across the country over the course 2010, though the other wares of Fossil will be delayed in their introduction to India.

Mr Verghese added: "We do not retail apparel anywhere else other than in the US. Apparel is a very specific market that involves bringing the brand sensibilities and local preferences and sizing in sync."

Fossil's flagship store in the UK is based in Covent Garden though the country mainly works in the US market.
