Fossil strike deal with Qatar Airways

Fossil has announced an agreement with Qatar Airways that will see it carry one of the group's watches onboard from the latest issue of Qatar Airways' Shopping Extravaganza catalogue.

The Europe, Middle East and Africa managing director of travel retail Robert Christiano said that he and the company is excited to partner with "one of the few five-star airlines in the world" and one which was recently named Airline of the Year 2009 at the TTG Awards here in the UK.

Additional opportunities are being explored for future timepiece offerings that would be exclusive to Qatar Airways, he said.

Qatar Airways inflight duty free vice president Keith Hunter told the press: "We wanted to make sure we offer our esteemed passengers an exclusive range of these timepieces and as such [we have] been in touch with the Fossil Group."

Mr Hunter added that his company looks forward to increasing the range for all future listings.

It adds to a number of other famous partnerships Fossil has struck in recent years, including that with designer Philippe Starck, a firm proponent of New Design.
