Fossil expands retail side of watch business

Fossil watches may be given a sales boost following the announcement that Tom Kennedy and Brigitte Cooperman have been given senior management positions within the retail side of the firm.

Tom Kennedy will assume the role of senior vice-president and general merchandise manager following his work as division president for PacSun and PacSun.com, as well as "extensive retail experience" through senior executive leadership roles for Gap, Old Navy and Nike.

Following a consulting role since June 2009, Brigitte Cooperman will be assuming the role of senior vice-president for Fossil's North American stores, with her experience coming from positions with Urban Outfitters, J Crew, Lilly Pulitzer and Zany Brainy.

Jennifer Pritchard, the president of retail, explained: "We are excited to welcome Tom and Brigitte to our Fossil Team. Their unique perspectives and retail experience will add to our dynamic business as we drive our global brand."

Fossil's highest-profile partnership has been with Philippe Starck, who produced a number of cutting-edge designs for watches for the brand.
