First ever solar atomic Baby-G Casio watch unveiled

First published: 09-06-2009

In a world first for Casio watches, the latest addition to the Baby-G range features solar atomic technology.

The new Slim Marine Casio watch is targeted at women seeking adventure, with a focus on versatility, functionality and Baby-G's trademark durability.

It is suitable for activity on either land or water and is water resistant up to 200 metres, featuring four alarms and a fully-automated calendar.

But the real bonus of this Casio watch is its ability to charge its own battery using sunlight.

In addition to its solar panels, Casio's Multi-band 5 Atomic Timekeeping technology ensures the time is always accurate, calibrated according to five different transmitters worldwide.

This enables the watch to show the world time in up to 48 cities.

Shigenori Itoh, vice-president of Casio's Timepiece Division, said: "We're very excited to welcome this new addition to the Baby-G line, featuring Solar Atomic Technology.

"Solar Atomic Technology is a very important function and we are thrilled to incorporate it into the Baby-G Slim Marine model."

This new release coincides with that of the new G-Shock In4mation Casio watch, Casio's third collaboration with the Hawaiian brand.
