Famous watch collector raided by Blooming burglars

Orlando Bloom, the Kent-born star of the Lord of the Rings trilogy and Pirates of the Caribbean, has had his house in Los Angeles raided and a number of extremely rare watches stolen.

It is understood that well over £300,000 worth of watches and jewellery has disappeared from the actor's home, which was empty while Orlando spent time in New York and his live-in girlfriend, supermodel Miranda Kerr, was busy at an awards ceremony.

The Daily Telegraph revealed that eight of the watches are over 40 years old yet remain to be in "superb" condition, with six rare Rolex models which included an anti-magnetic version known as the Milgauss.

Luckily, watch collectors from around the world have been informed of the models stolen, with any criminal network being tracked should they try to pass off the watches.

Last month, Orlando Bloom donated personal belongings to an auction for a Nepalese charity conducted by his mother, including his old guitar, signed posters and a pair of loafers worn during filming of Lord of the Rings.
