Fake watches seized in Wales

HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) officials in Wales have seized hundreds of counterfeit Ice watches, it has emerged.

A pair of men - aged 50 and 57 - were arrested by police in connection with the fake Ice timepieces before being bailed until a trial in March, reports Watch Pro.

The counterfeit goods were found in a storage facility in Bridgend town centre earlier this week, alongside 500,000 smuggled cigarettes.

A HMRC spokesman said Trading standards had been informed about the products.

Paul Harry - marketing director at Ice-Watch's UK distributor - said the popularity of the timepieces has resulted in a growing supply of fake products.

Although purchasing counterfeit products may be better for your bank balance, wearers usually find the items break very easily and cannot be repaired due to their cheap nature.

Genuine articles are therefore always the way to go. You can find a wide selection of authentic timepieces at Watch Shop.
