More than 2,000 companies will be presenting their latest products at Baselworld 2010 - The World Watch and Jewellery Show.

The next instalment of the watch show takes place between March 18th and 25th in Basel, Switzerland.

Baselworld 2009 closed its doors on April 2nd, with 1,952 exhibitors from 45 different countries making it to the event.

Francois Thiebaud, president of the Swiss Exhibitors' Committee and of Tissot, hailed this year's show as a success.

He said: "We were able to showcase our new products to buyers from all over the world and we're extremely satisfied with how the show went.

"It was extremely well organised and it worked its magic for us once again."

Vice president of Chopard Karl-Friedrich Scheufele added that the success of the conference can be used as a barometer for the rest of the year.

"We do a large proportion of our business in Basel and get together with our clients and the press from all over the world," he added.
