Earrings and watches top Amazon wish lists

First published: 31-12-2009

As part of its end-of-year extravaganza, Amazon.com has decided to unveil its bestselling lists for the entirety of 2009, showing how jewellery and watches still continue to be popular.

The best-selling item of jewellery was a sterling silver marcasite and garnet glass heart pendant, according to Rapaport, while the watch category was dominated by cheaper offerings, with the sea analogue illuminator dual LED dive Casio watch coming out on top.

Eva Manolis, Amazon's vice-president of retail customer experience, said that the Bestsellers Archive reveals the collective interests and true desires of customers back to the beginning of Amazon.com.

"It's a fun experience enabling exploration of bestselling products - helping customers find their favourites, as well as discover those they may not know about."

Rather unsurprisingly, the best-selling book of the year was none other than The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown, the controversial and much-maligned author of The Da Vinci Code.
