A French fashion house has created a unique diving watch it plans to donate to the Watch Only 2011 charity auction in aid of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

For the event, Louis Vuitton has re-imagined its Tambour Diving II chronograph in black gold. The watch has a unidirectional rotating bezel and luminescent hands.

The piece was designed in collaboration with Paul Pettavino, son of the president of Monaco Association against Muscular Dystrophy, who initiated Watch Only.

The presentation case is embossed on the inside with a message from Mr Pettavino and the watch is coloured orange, his favourite tone.

Inscribed on the back of the case is Only Watch 2011, while the La Joux-Perret column wheel movement offers an integral chronograph function for divers.

It is waterproof up to 100 metres, features a 48-hour power reserve and comes with a reflection-proof coated sapphire glass.

The watch is a blend of black and orange, signature of the partnership between Louis Vuitton and Mr Pettavino, while its sleek style is complemented by its sporty edge.

The Watch Only 2011 auction will take places this September in the grounds of the Monaco Yacht show.
